We had such a positive experience with Alpine Heat Pumps. The crew that came to do the work were profession on site, mindful of picking up each day, and were a well oiled machine throughout the process. Even in a challenging part of the install (I was adding electric heat baseboards in a few rooms) listening to the team work through challenges (wiring through my old house walls) with even a sense of humor was refreshing. All interactions with Alpine were great. I was always able to reach someone and got timely, helpful feedback. The installation was on schedule and the techs who came out were respectful, thorough, and clean. When an issue occurred they were upfront and clearly explained the plan for remediation. We went through the MassSave program and they worked seamlessly together. My only complaint is that we would have loved to get scheduled for install sooner after getting our quote, but after experiencing the service I understand why there was high demand for their service and many jobs in front of ours!

UPDATE SEPTEMBER 2026:
Since installation, we have been delighted with the seven splits and two heat pumps that were installed by Alpine. They are quiet, efficient, and have really enhanced the quality of our life. In all that time we have only had two service issues that were promptly addressed. The technicians In both instances were personable, professional, and explained things very clearly. Most recently, the technician was a fellow called Alberto. He was patient and meticulous. He resolved the issue and explained in detail what it was and how he remedied it. As before, we have absolutely no hesitation recommending Alpine. They are terrific.

INSTALLATION 2023:
We had received 5-6 estimates for installing heat pump heating and cooling systems, as well as for the heat pump hot water heater.  Only one other company approached the resourceful, honest and prompt standard exhibited by James from Alpine.  He  also facilitated the swift and simple approval for the relevant interest free loan.  The online bank was truly a simple process and a pleasure to deal with.

Regarding installation, the workers were all professional, meticulous and considerate.  This included the outstanding plumber Tom, the 4 incredibly efficient and ethical heat pump and mini splits installation crew members (7 mini splits were required) and the equally professional and considerate electricians (their boss Shaun stopped by to ensure we were happy with the electrical work).  I might add that the crew leader of the HVAC team Matteo demonstrated great initiative in optimally siting internal and external ducts.  The manager/owner of the HVAC installation team Tiago was on hand and instrumental in the completion of the job ahead of time.

After installation our personal indoctrination to, and minor tribulations arising from, this approach to HVAC for our quirky-layout home were facilitated by the accessibility of James.

The co-owner of Alpine, Kurt, very decently spent a couple of patient hours here after installation reviewing all facets of this novel (to us) technology and answering all queries.

As a bonus to all this, the front desk and scheduling team at Alpine are the most professional, considerate and forbearing people.  They are incredibly well spoken and (for a deaf soul such as me!) have great telephone manner.

Lastly, but definitely not least, Alpine undertake all of the bothersome details and paperwork regarding rebates (and also the electronic leg work for interest free loans).

Had Alpine heat pumps install mini splits, had a little issue getting the second floor cooling properly but they went above and beyond to make sure things were working as intended. Technicians Ryan Donnoly and Nate Chartier were extremely personable, professional and knowledgeable. Upon arrival, I immediately introduced them to my two golden retrievers and let the get to know each other. I knew it would be more difficult to keep the dogs away from the technicians than to let them get acquainted. Ryan and Nate went above and beyond to make sure they kept me apprised to every step of the install. I appreciate Chris Kennedy’s efforts to accommodate my schedule so that the installation didn’t impact my wife’s surgery appointment in Boston. With all that was going on, the process went so smoothly. The electricians came in and got everything wired in less than two days. Including a new electric panel. I can’t say for sure, but I have a sneaky suspicion that everyone who works for this company is amazing. We’ve met or communicated with at least 8 people and they have all been friendly, professional, and patient. In a no heat emergency this Dec/Jan they stepped into the job so incredibly. We were nervous about the switch from oil to heat pump with New England winters and so far these units have exceeded our expectations! We have mini splits downstairs and ducted heat upstairs in our very old 1500 sq ft farmhouse. Every step of the way from sales, to scheduling, to install, to service has been five star. Alpine Heat Pumps is the Mass Save contractor you should call.  They did a great job installing my ducted heat pump in my attic along with a split in the finished basement.  The heat pump works great even on the coldest days, like today it is 2° and the heat pump is working fine.  The heat is very consistent with no temperature fluctuations that are typical with conventional oil and gas furnaces. I’m told it is even better with air conditioning and I will save on electricity as opposed to using my old air conditioning system.  This company is very organized and will let you know exactly when they are coming and what they will be doing. They answer all your questions.  Also, the installation crew was very friendly and professional. It couldn’t be better. They even clean up completely before they leave at the end of the day. You won’t even know they were there.  One more thing, the heat pump is very very quiet. I have to strain to even hear it at all.  You can’t go wrong with Alpine Heat Pumps. Start to finish, professional and transparent. Sales staff David provided an extremely accurate and honest proposal that was far better than other quotes.  Processes involving MassSave were smooth and easy to navigate.  Installation was quick and seamless.  The techs were polite, professional and punctual. The estimator handled all the paperwork involved with all processes. He scheduled the crew and sub-contractors. The crew was professional and knowledgeable in their duties. The Bosch 500 series mini-split, with three air handlers, was installed by HVAC contractor Brian Tatro Mechanical of East Longmeadow MA. The entire installation, which also included a new larger breaker box, was completed in under 6 hours. The installation crew carefully moved whatever was in their way, and just as carefully moved it all back when done, as well as cleaning up after themselves. We recently had our mini splits installed by Alpine Heat Pumps. They were recommended through the Mass Save program. These folks are wonderful to deal with. They got us on their schedule a few weeks out and then called us to ask if they could even start a day early. The installation was scheduled for 3 days start to finish. They managed to complete the job in 2 days! No cutting corners or skimping whatsoever. If I had to use one word to describe them it would be efficient. They had a great crew that worked so smoothly together. Extremely polite and considerate of our pets too. We have a few dogs and cats so it took a little juggling but it worked out fine. Going through the mass save process to upgrade my house to a heat pump and heat pump water heater was super easy. They walked me through the whole process and were available to answer questions. They even went above and beyond when my original water heater started to leak and they rescheduled their workload so they could help me out. Brian and his team were professional, clean and quick. The crew was very easy to work with and very informative about what they were doing. Explained very clearly how the units worked and how to maintain them. Unexpected rain had two project crews at the house together.  The Alpine Heat Pump crew were great about working around the other team. We made a small adjustment to the original placement plan that worked out great. They checked with me every time there was an option on installation and discussed the best plan. Our install for heat pumps went well, but the original design resulted in some shaking of our pipes and walls. After several trips to our house to troubleshoot this, the last thing to do was to move the location of the outdoor unit. Frank was immensely helpful, spending numerous hours troubleshooting and ultimately relocating the unit. It is now running smoothly and quietly, providing steady heating and cooling for our entire house.

Chelsea was also wonderful, ensuring that we received quality work and were happy with the finished product. I can't wait to not feel the heat of summer this year!

Additionally, the units are WiFi friendly and have a useful smartphone app allowing us to change the temperature on each unit from anywhere in the house or world.

I am super happy with Alpine Heat Pumps.  They always came when they said they would, their work inside and out was meticulous, and they were considerate and cleaned up after their work.  I could not be happier with the product and the team.  Great communication and they were always helpful with explaining things clearly to me. We wanted a second hot water tank/heat pump installed in an area of our new house that was not getting enough hot water. Alpine helped us diagnose the problem, which included an area where pipes ran outside, exacerbating the problems we were experiencing, and offered a range of solutions.

The work was completed promptly and 100% on budget, including re-routing the pipes to be totally indoors. The sales team, installer, and electrician were all top notch, and the new system is functioning perfectly. They even set it up so that when our older tank fails, we may be able to run exclusively off of our new heat pump. Either way that works out, we're totally satisfied with the new unit and how the job was completed, and would not hesitate to use Alpine again should the need arise.

From start to finish of our heat pump project we couldn’t have happier with Alpine Heat Pumps.  During the planning phase of our project they were very responsive to our concerns and designed a system that met our  needs. The installers communicated with us throughout the multi day project and did a job that exceeded our expectations. I've been in touch with Chelsea the most but also with Chris, Wyatt and several others along the way, they've been fantastic every step of the way and we're in a much better place with our utilities now than we were when we first started! We are pleased with the the entire process starting with the initial visit from James.  After discussions with him, our plans changed and it has worked out well.  The installation of the new heating system was great. The electrician was wonderful and spent time helping us get acquainted with our new system. Professional at every step in the process.
When getting an estimate, Alpine presented a wall unit arrangement different from all other companies. Alpine's arrangement was a much better fit for the layout of the house. Clearly, they know what they are doing. Their installation team was great. The job was completed on time and on budget. The Alpine office handled all paperwork smoothly. Alpine Heat Pump helped us plan a workable system for our somewhat 'nonstandard' house. On installation day, a team arrived and handled the several aspects simultaneously. Power was connected the next day, and presto! We are very impressed with how it's performing. Update: Alpine Heat Pump-Support is doing most of the paperwork for the Mass Save rebate for us (very helpful), and has provided information on use and maintenance.
